.223 at Medium Range - .223 Accuracy Series Part 1

In General

Shooting the Savage Model 12 .223 we demonstrate short range and medium distance shooting. This time we're going to 300+ yards and showing how you don't need special mega-bucks ammo to do the job.

This is part one of a multi-part series we will be doing showing how different loads can do the job and do it well, high quality bullets are good to have but even surplus pulled rounds will work nicely. The round is a 55 grain jacketed bullet of surplus origin and the brass is range pickup in which only the primer pockets were swaged to ensure no crimp was present.
We used a Dillon 1050 to load the 25 grains of Ramshot TAC powder and we seated, lightly crimped, and used a case gauge to ensure proper chambering.
