ANOTHER California Gun Control Bill
the California State Senate voted in favor of Senate Bill 497, which would restrict Californians from purchasing or transferring more than one firearm in a 30-day period.
“There is no need or reason why a person would need to purchase more than one gun a month,” the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge), said during the floor debate.
According to gun control advocates, the concern is people who purchase multiple guns in a 30-day period are buying the firearms to sell on the black market via straw purchases.
