BCM KMR Rail :: 3lb AR Build pt.6 :: Musty Yeti

Today we are discussing our rail of choice in the search to build a 3 pound AR15. The easy, and obvious choice, was the BCM KMR. This rail is easily the lightest rail on the market. They've achieved this by constructing the KMR out of a Magnesium blend. It's just as strong as aluminum but a third the weight. They now offer them in several different lengths, a 9", 10", 13", and a 15" rail. All of these rails are super light when compared to others in their length class. The KMR is Key-Mod rail system that with slots not only at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock position but also . They key hole slots themselves are offset which adds to the strength of the rail. The only downside I can see to the rail is its cost, it is a very expensive rail. However, if you guys can afford it, pick one up, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for watching. Take care.
