CGPS - How to Save Money on All Retail Purchases

In General

"CGPS" is an acronym which stands for Credit Cards/Coupons, Gift Cards, Points, and Sale. The more of these used for a single purchase, the greater the savings. Also consider buying in bulk in order to lower the cost per unit. Try finding free shipping and consider buying from a different state to avoid paying state sales tax (subject to change soon). Also use a price tracker like Camel Camel Camel to buy when a products price is low. NEVER hold a debt/balance on your credit card because the interest rates will annihilate any cost savings. If you do carry debt with interest, make it your goal to pay it down first.

Example of CGPS in action:
A camera retails for $1000. You decide to use a 2% cash back credit card to purchase a discounted gift card for $380 with a value of $494.25, you find an online coupon for 25% off, you earn enough points for $30 off, and lastly you wait until the camera is on sale for $699. How much do you actually pay?

The person at the register thinks you are paying $494.25, but your actual cost is $372.40

http://www.giftcardgranny.com organizes all of the discounted gift cards available online (Like ABC Gift Cards) into one site.
