Another fine offering from jr10 Desert Gold.
This is a surprisingly sweet hops beer! This is not the most hoppy and bitter beer I have had .. BUT it is the most well blended.
At 18.0% this should just be like downing a shot of something strong, yet it is not.
Too extreme to be called beer? 120 Minute IPA is brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops!
Not what you think an IPA should taste like (but that's not a bad thing!). Warming alcohol flavors, raisin, plum, hops, caramel sweetness. Like the nose, the flavors are very complex and yet blend together perfectly. Although the alcohol adds some flavor it is hidden extremely well considering the 18% ABV.
