I know this video is a bit long, I'm really done with the gear in the pack about halfway thru, the rest is about concept and mindset...

This video is on what I guess most people would consider my "Bug Out Bag", however I really don't consider it that. As "the end of the world approaches" (and I really don't think it is) I see more and more people building this type of bag, and even though I think some of the reasons for putting these types of bags together are a little paranoid, the end result is a good thing and a bad thing. It's a good thing in that I believe that more people are learning how to become self-reliant in the woods. The bad part is that there are a lot of companies taking advantage of this fear and selling a lot of overpriced "hype" and the overpriced gear to go with it. This is my 72hr to 7 day survival pack and its contents. I take this bag every time I leave the house so I'm prepared to survive and find my way out of an intense situation where I may become stranded for a short length of time. Some of the situations that may arise (other than a street full of zombies) are a natural disaster such as a tornado, my vehicle breaking down or wrecking in a remote location, or other things like that. I hope you enjoy the video and I know it gets kind of long. About ½ way through the video I have shown all the gear and then begin to just discuss the realities of being lost or stranded.
