No it is not obsolete. Carry what your comfortable with and what you shoot well. Shot placement is what counts not mag capacity. I live in a free state and carry either a 40 cal Glock 27 with 8 round mag or a 9 mm Barreta Nano with a 6 round mag. I don’t plan on getting in a gun fight but if I do, I’m not hanging around to trade fire. Statistics show it is usually over in one or two rounds.
