Kentucky Bill Seeks To Eliminate Gun Free Zones

A bill pre-filed for the 2019 General Assembly would expand the rights of concealed carry gun owners to bring their weapons into places they are usually banned, including schools, bars, government meetings, and businesses that post "no guns allowed" signs.

State Rep. Robert Goforth said his bill is a public protection bill.

Touchy subject. Although I agree you should be able to carry anywhere, meaning public areas or municipalities, etc. I also believe a private business owner has the right as a private citizen to have andpost their business as a gun free zone if they so desire. Just like having a dress code in certain restaurants. You don’t have to eat there if you don’t want to where a jacket and tie. Go somewhere else. I don’t think a bar should be off limits just because they serve alcohol, but I have no problem with the owner posting it because he feels safe or thinks his patrions might feel safe with a sign. I would go to a gun friendly bar. We all know gun free zones don’t work but it is their right to be stupid if they want.
