My vector has been down a month. Known issue with my bolt. I think I’ve finally resolved it.

I have a British Sterling semi auto wiselite made if memory serves me anyhow these guns were originally open bolt before wiselite remanned /redesigned them into closed bolt striker fiered semi autos point is I had same exact issue with mine striker and firing pin would jam forward essentially making the gun operate just like an open bolt original full auto bolt locking open uppon release of trigger
Sometimes it would just go into like an open bolt mode but only semi auto sometimes it would rip off a short burst before reverting to acting like a open bolt semi sometimes just burst completely unpredictable and dangerous but hell I'm not gonna lie fun to but it scared the hell out of me first time but even as fun as it was I wasted no time tracking down the issue safety and legality first w firearms however it took several go rounds and alot of head scratching to finally get to the bottom of it I took it apart several times attempting to fix issue first cleaned up everything then lubing all parts that stopped it temporary bit issue resurfaced few months later so then I replaced firing pin and pin spring it stopped again for another few months then started acting up again chewing up another spring so I replaced the bolt because the spring bore inside bolt had gotten deformed assumably from a deffective spring that time it really fixed it years later it hasn't so much as hiccuped even on elcheapo ammo not even a jam or ftf fte nothing smooth shooting I do kinda miss the burst

You read my mind, I am afraid to look down the firing pin channel because exactly what you said. I am certain that is what I am going to find. Based on how it feels I believe the spring is stretched and misshapened around the pin itself. Sad face.

Yes you are correct I read online about doing that to break up that copper flake lube used by the factory.
