This is a 1942 Lee Enfield no. 4 .303 which was modified sometime in the 50's by Golden State Arms Company into the Santa Fe Jungle Carbine, a No. 5 copy. My father purchased it in the late 50's and has passed it on to me. Although it is a remake, they use quality No. 4 parts during the conversion and everything here matches.....serial numbers all across the gun match. Much respect to those who own correct originals but these should definitely be respected as collectors items themselves as there are surely fewer of these than "actual" No. 5's and the build quality is very high. This rifle shoots accurate and packs a hell of a wallop, both downrange and on your shoulder.
