After watching the feeder for a while and realizing it did not go off, we used the RedNeck remote control method... I climbed down the tree and ran the 100 or so yards to the feeder and set it off. By the time I got back to the tree after a gimpy run (I'm still recovering from ACL surgery), deer were already arriving. One happened to be this Stag Spike. His antlers were fairly flimsy and covered in velvet and his testicles looked like a neutered dogs with a shrunken ball sack.
We try to knock out the culls as much as we can, but hunting on a low fence it is hard to get them all. Another hunter took another Stag about 5 minutes earlier about a half mile away.
