Stevens 87B .22 Semi-Automatic Rifle

Here's a look at my Stevens 87B .22 semi-automatic rifle made by the Savage/Stevens Arms Company. The 87B features a 15 shot under barrel tube magazine and the unusual Stevens action - the bolt stays open after you fire a shot , not going forward to chamber the next round until you release the trigger. These rifles are sometimes called "clickety-clacks" due to their distinctive operating sound, or "Gill Guns" because of the vented breach area. These old rifles are frequently under rated, although they are plain looking they are solid, accurate and usually quite reliable.

The 87B operates as a semi-auto with .22LR ammo, however it can also be used as a bolt action with .22 long rifle, .22 short or .22 longs. To use as a bolt action the bolt is locked while forward by pushing the bolt handle in to the receiver.
