Please note: this block did not calibrate correctly. Maximum allowable depth for a .177 cal BB is 3.74". This block produced 4.45" with a BB at 594 fps. That means that as shallow as the penetration shown here is, it would actually be slightly less in properly calibrated gelatin. According to McPherson's correction chart, though, the correction to be applied is very tiny because the calibration velocity was so close to nominal. While it's technically out of range, the variation ought to be infinitesimal.
