After taking this Carcano sporter to the range I share my experiences with it. Should you pick one up given their low current prices or should you pass?

I'll repost my comment from YouTube:
My advice for the new gun owner or the person who likes to burn ammunition at the range, but neither is a serious collector, this, and most milsurp firearms aren't really what you are looking for. En bloc clips are about $10 each (+shipping). Factory ammunition is rare and expensive. Twenty rounds of that Norma ammunition you used is $45-$60 a box. Reloading is an option, but only PPU and Norma make brass, and I have only been able to find bullets from PPU. The manufacturers of reloading dies have been out of stock for months. For a while there en bloc clips were out of stock everywhere. I just wouldn't recommend this for any reason other than collecting, despite the $230-$270 price (+shipping, + transfer fee).
