Manufacturers design the front brakes with more stopping power because the weight of the vehicle shifts to the front during stopping. They also use proportioning valves to deploy more hydraulic pressure to the front brakes. All these design variations, cargo loading, mechanical condition, weather and driving habits can create uneven brake wear.
