Alternator Postmortem

Examining the alternator that I removed from a '98 Ford Contour with a 2.5 liter V6 engine. Mercury Cougar uses the same alternator.
This alternator was 7 years old. I suspect the slip ring is worn due to the deep grooves caused by the brushes.
Had I known rebuild parts were available I would have attempted the project.
