Bersa TPR9 - More Than a Beginners Gun
Quick video shooting the Bersa TPR9. Lots of people pass over Bersa for some of the names like Glock, H&K, etc. Not saying the aforementioned companies don't make good firearms but Bersa is no slouch. I have always been a fan of the Bersa Thunder and was excited to get my hands on this one. All I seen when I looked at this gun was a full size 9mm Thunder with 17 + 1 capacity.
The TPR9 has given me another gun to think about when it comes to Bersa and Eagle Imports. Please allow me to say, I dont care for DA/SA guns; I have never enjoyed the DA trigger pull. That being said, I enjoyed everything else about this gun. I did think I would like the grips when looking at the photos of it; but they didnt bother me at all. The front sight on this particular model was okay, but I could do without the rear sights. The dots are too small; however, they are tall enough for one handed manipulations.
So lets make this easy for you:
Pros:
-Nice weight
-Recoil is manageable
-No excessive muzzle rise
-Better than expected single action trigger (actually really nice)
-Ambidextrous (Mag release can be swapped)
-Oversized Safety/Decocker
-Oversized Slide Stop
-Large takedown lever
-Super simple takedown (easier than Glock)
-Thumbs forward reference point
-Loaded Chamber Indicator
-Price MSRP 465.00
Cons:
-DA Trigger pull
-Rear Sight (except for height allowing one handed operations)
Would I buy: Yes
Would I carry: Yes
