Black Watch IPA from Adirondack Brewery
Pours black with brown edges and a frothy khaki head that settles to a thick cap, leaving lots of soapy lacing. Aromas of bitter roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and strong pine resin and grapefruit hops. Really pleasant smelling Black IPA. Taste is spot-on with the nose, a nice balance between the roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee and the resinous hops. Finish is pleasantly bitter, with contributions from both the chocolate malt and the hops. Mouth feel is smooth and fairly creamy, with a medium body and good carbonation. Overall a really nice Black IPA that holds it's own with some of the top examples of the style.
