The Colt 1908 Vest Pocket almost seems like John Browning invented it just to be able to have one to carry around in his OWN pocket but what do you know.....lots of others felt the same way!
If you can put aside the notion that the .25 ACP round is "ineffective" and should be banished from the earth.....consider that maybe you are using the wrong gun for the wrong reasons. Seven rounds of center fire .25 as fast as you can pull the trigger out of something that can fit in a cigarette box is pretty amazing.
These smaller caliber pocket guns were all the rage at the turn of the 20th century and the quality of manufacture here is amazing. Case in point, the 1903 Pocket Hammerless (which I have already featured) and the 1908 Vest Pocket were the guns that brought full attention to the 1911 when it came about.....so much so that the United States military adopted it as the official sidearm of the US Armed Forces.
This little gun sure paved a huge road.....
