Colt Dragoon Rides Off with Big Money!

This Colt Dragoon Third Model was shipped near the end of the production run and at the very start of the Civil War, April 1861.

Most Dragoons would have a 7 1/2-inch barrel and see hard use in pommel holsters. In contrast, this cased Dragoon enjoys the rare 8-inch barrel and today remains a benchmark example of how it looked when it left the factory over 160 years ago. Such condition and rarity made for a bidding battle and an outstanding result at auction!
