Hello, Sheepdogs my name is Ryan and in this video, we're going to discuss the 15 places that you can never bring your concealed firearm in the State of Florida.

The first prohibited area is any place of nuisance. A place of a nuisance ( FL Statutes 823.05) would be a crack house or a place where gang members are engaged in criminal activity. It is also defined as a massage parlor that is engaged in unlawful activity. So don't bring your gun to any of the Asian massage parlors in Tampa. I've heard some things.

Number two, is any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station. Three is any detention facility, prison or jail. Four is any courthouse and five is any courtroom. Six is any polling place. Number seven is any meeting of a governing body of a county, public school district, municipality or a special district. Number eight is any meeting of the legislature. I know that last one hurts, how I love attending meetings of the legislature.

Nine is any school, college or professional athletic event not related to firearms. My son belongs to a privately owned soccer league that practices at a local park. Because there is no association with a school and it, not a professional event I am allowed to carry my firearm concealed at this sporting event.

Number 10 is an elementary, middle or high school facility or administrative facility. But what if you had a firearm in your trunk unloaded and you pulled into your kid's school, would that be legal or illegal? For most school districts in Florida, it is illegal to have a firearm in your car while on school property. Personally, if I have to go to my kid's school I park my car in a subdivision and walk across the street.

Number 11 is any career center. This would be a trade school.

Number 12 is any portion of a restaurant where the primary purpose is the consumption of alcohol. If we were to go to an Applebee's, were could we not sit? At the bar. Where could we sit? At the booth. The real question is can I consume alcohol while sitting at the booth? Yes, I can, America. Surprisingly we are allowed to consume alcohol with a concealed firearm in Florida. However, you can only touch the firearm in a justifiable self-defense situation.

Number 13 is any college or university facility. However, you are allowed to have a firearm in your vehicle parked on a college campus. But the weapon must be securely encased. I'll provide a link to another video that explains the details of securely encasing your firearm above.

Number 14 inside the passenger terminal or sterile area of an airport. Never bring your firearm inside of an airport unless your preparing to travel with your firearm. To learn how you can legally bring a firearm on an airplane click the link above.

Number 15 is any place where carrying a firearm is prohibited by federal law. This would include a military base, post office, IRS building, federal courthouse or VA hospital just to name a few. I wish I could tell you every place the federal government prohibits guns but they don't make the information easy to find. I know what your thinking the government making something difficult it's hard to imagine

Remember this list of prohibited places only applies to the state of Florida. Firearm laws vary significantly from state to state. Always research each states firearm laws before traveling with a firearm.
