Glock 48 slide on a 43.... a "43L".
Rumor has it that the Glock 48 slide would function reliably on a Glock 43 Frame, creating a "43L".... midsized slide on a compact grip, a configuration preferred by many for IWB Concealed Carry. This is a single stack version of the 26L I carried for many years, a Glock 19 with a chopped grip to accept 26 sized magazines. The Glock 48 Frame is actually wider than the Glock 43's and uses a different size magazine.
I shot about 750 rounds of mixed ball and HP ammunition through the 43L.
Note that the 43 Frame I used for this first experiment was actually a modified folding frame from Full Conceal... simply because it was the only 43 Frame I had handy. I'll be conducting some more testing with a standard frame soon, and comparing the 43L to the 4" Springfield XD-S that I've been carrying for several years and is a very close match in terms of external dimensions.
