GRPC 2018 Kevin Dixie - Perception

It was wonderful being with the hundreds of 2A supporters at the 2018 GRPC Conference in Chicago, IL.

Perception is something that needs to be considered when you speak of any outreach work. Who are the people you are trying to reach? How do they view things? What is their experience?

Let's use our resources to truly understand others. 1776 is an important day in history and rightfully so. But let's be really honest about the fact that Blacks weren't, by law, considered to be human. So, how does 1776 connect on a personal level? Now, 1921 and 1917 are far more personal and reflective of what happens when tyranny, ignorance, and racism combine to cause death and destruction.

It's hard to reach others when you dont get to know them. We are all Americans, but we need to be honest about these examples. My Ancestors, all of our American brothers and sisters, were not fighting for freedom from Britain, but instead they were fighting for freedom from America.

Lets inform people that they should be armed in case America decides to repeat the past! Also remind them that you will stand flat footed besides them ready to defend! That's understanding that leads to unification.
