Many have asked what I think of the GSG and so far I still love it. I've heard from other viewers about broken parts so I did some looking on YouTube and compared my GSG to those. I gave ATI (the importer of the GSG) a call and asked them about what I was hearing and while on the phone they asked me about some of my parts. They gladly sent me some replacement parts.

While on the phone I mentioned my issue with the slide lock coming out. They even sent me a replacement for this too! All free of charge and very quickly.

My slide lock issue is an important one. Especially if you use a 1911 for self defense. When using my GSG in a steel challenge match I found myself pushing accidentally on the slide lock and causing it to engage the slide prematurely. This caused the gun to fail. The new slide lock fixed this problem. BUT... the important thing was that I found this issue and I believe that it would have only been found in this type of environment I was using it in.

FOR EXAMPLE: I was using my GSG in a competition match. This is a somewhat stressful environment. It is not like target shooting at the range. I find I hold/handle my gun differently under stress. It is this stress that causes issues to appear that you would normally never see under just plinking. So I suggest to you to use your gun what ever it is, in a stress type environment. Be it a competition of some sort or "Run N Gun". It is in this type of use that you may see issues or limitations with your gun. GET OUT AND SHOOT!
