Lee Zip Trim - Quick Demo

Using the Lee Zip Trim to trim .223 cases to length and polish them.

1) Unscrew universal three jaw chuck half a turn
2) Insert brass case
3) Tighten chuck
4) Insert case length gauge & trimmer
5) Three to ten pulls to trim case to length
6) One pull to chamfer inside neck
7) One pull to chamfer outside neck
8) Five pulls to polish case with ScotchBrite pad, including the neck opening
9) Inspect case

I like the Zip Trim better than using the locking stud in a cordless drill because there is no fatigue from supporting the weight of the drill, the Zip Trim is firmly mounted so both hands are free to hold all the tools at once and quickly switch between them instead of picking them up individually from the bench, and there are no batteries to change. The case lengths are even more uniform than they were with the drill because it's too easy for a powered drill to get carried away and chamfer more than needed when the drill revved higher than intended, but the Zip Trim consistently gets one pull to chamfer inside and one pull to chamfer outside. I agree with the Lee's belief that cleaning brass on the Zip Trim is faster, easier and results in a lot less exposure to lead dust than tumble cleaning cases. I still tumble clean, but I clean cases on the Zip Trim if I'm trimming there anyway.
