I got my first deer of the 2011 season the day before rifle season started. I took Friday off from work to do an evening hunt with my bow before gun season started the next day. A bunch of does came up as well as this nasty spike. Texas Parks and Wildlife recommends taking spikes when ever you can since they will never grow anything more than spike antlers and you do not want them to pass the gene onto their offspring.

I flat out missed my 1st shot and ended up shooting a little far back but it got some lungs on the exit with my second shot which was at 40yards. Unfortunately the 2nd shot was not on video since I did not have time to adjust my camera. He ran about 50 yards then crashed.
