I agree. Its accuracy, not the caliber. Shotgun is way better than a pistol to stop a threat. Pistol should be secondary or last resort. Loaded chamber or not is personal preference but I go by the threat level of the area I am going into. To me this is situational. If its a high threat area then I put one in the pipe but for all other low threat areas I don't as this reduces the chances of a negligent discharge. One exception is if I have a DA/SA or DAO hammer pistol then there is one in the pipe all the time because its the safest firing system for carry. Very true. Every shooter needs some level of training by certified instructor and by at least introduction to competition match shooting. Real world working with the gun. Shooting on a square range is not enough. Add practice and drills both dry fire and live fire. Caliber doesn't really matter as much as muzzle energy delivered to the target in ft/lbs. Some cartridges (not calibers) do a better job with muzzle energy than others. Thanks for sharing.
