I don’t know about every state either but here in the south they like to throw out the “gun show loophole” and say you don’t have to have a background check. It’s BS. If you are not a resident of the state the show is in you can’t buy a hand gun unless the selling dealer is willing to send it to an FFL in your state. You can buy a long gun but you have to get the background check while on site. Sometimes it takes a few min sometimes an hour or so. The only sale that can be done of a firearm ata gun show is a private sale. Not done buy dealers, but Joe citizen. You will see people once in a while walking around at a gun show caring a rifle with a for sale sign taped to it. Or perhaps carrying a backpack with a handgun inside with a for sale sign on the back. Most shows i attend in my area (southeast Virginia) will have a state trooper on site that will run a background checks on private sales if you ask them to. They do it as a service, but not as a requirement because it isn’t required for private sales. The shows in North Carolina do the same for long guns. Handguns require a purchase permit issued by your county sheriff or a CCW permit or you cannot buy one. There is no instant background checks done in NC on handguns. So where is the loophole?
