In North Carolina, we have to pay vehicles taxes every year. Essentially, the state assigned a value to your vehicle and you will have to pay taxes on that value. In addition, a vehicle inspection is required yearly. Although, it sounds like a great idea, I think many mechanic shops are taking advantage of the people. Finally, I do NOT understand why we are paying taxes on something we ALREADY paid taxes on. In my opinion, taxes should be pay one time and that is it! Continuing to pay taxes on the same product (For example a vehicle) is simply stealing from the American people.
