Responsible Rebellion: Explained
People have been asking me why I'm advocating so strongly for people to be allowed to resume some level of normal life in a responsible way.
In this video, I explain how my position on this isn't a "change" in my position about rebellion or civil disobedience... this situation is different than any I have addressed before.
I'm advocating for the idea that if we can go to Walmart responsibly, we can go to other stores the same way. If we can trust convenience store workers and drive-thru attendants to behave responsibly, we can trust the rest of our citizens to do the same.
Some additional points addressed in this video:
-the virus is real, but we're obviously not really locked down.
-if you don't trust your neighbors to be responsible, you are using the old Gun Control argument... and you should become a better neighbor by educating and informing "them".
-my business world is fine, I'm not making this stand am because I'm "greedy".
-applying your baseline principles to new circumstances may result in new conclusions without making you a flip-flopper.
Freedom involves risk. Americans have, historically, accepted that fact and chosen to find ways to mitigate those risks while capitalizing on freedom. It times to move forward. There will be no vaccine anytime soon and even widespread testing is probably months away. We need to find those "new normals" that will allow us to live during and through this pandemic.
