Rob Pincus discussing the Crumbley Verdict on Scripps News, Feb 2024
Rob Pincus was invited on Scripps News Channel to discuss the appropriateness, and possible ramifications, of the Crumbley Case in Michigan.
On Feb 6th, 2024, Jennifer Crumbly was convicted of Manslaughter for her actions (or lack thereof) in regard to her son committing a mass murder at his high school in Oxford, Michigan in November 2021. He committed those murders with a firearm that was unsecured in the home, and which had recently been giving to him as an early Christmas Present. On the very day of the shooting, Jennifer Crumbley was called to the school because there was a concern about violence. There had been many warning signs that her son probably needed Mental Health Treatment and could be a danger to others.
Rob Pincus explains why he believes that her negligence as a gun owner and parent did deserve punishment and how he believes the case is a good precedent for the gun rights movement, as conviction represents accountability without any specific gun laws (mandatory storage, age restrictions, etc.) being involved.
