Taking a slight milsurp Sunday off we feature the Ruger Model 44 which is a semi auto, .44 Magnum chambered carbine which was produced from 1961 to 1985. This design influenced the very popular Ruger 10/22 that was released in 1964.

Ruger claimed they were losing money on these in the 80's and rather than cheapen the rifle they stopped production so I commend them for that but they do not support this rifle now for parts, service, or anything and that is a bit dismissive in my opinion.

I love the .44 Magnum cartridge so this rifle is right up my alley and I feel it was MADE for rifle usage.....so much of the powder charge is wasted in handgun usage for this cartridge.
