S&W Bodyguard Malfunction video part two

In General

In this old video I rant about the reliability of the $208 S&W Bodyguard 380 I bought to replace my other faulty Bodyguard 380. Disclaimer : NPC's may want to click away from this one! Will this pistol work in the end?

I see lots of folks with Ruger LCPs with malfunctions all the time but Ruger does not make the best autoloaders out there either. I feel sorry for folks that are using these for defense because they are not reliable. So don't get a Ruger autoloader. I had a Ruger SR22 at one time and the slide to frame fit was so loose it would never have shot decently and there was no way to fix it so I got rid of it and I no longer will buy Ruger autoloaders. Haha. Ruger does make good revolvers and rifles though. I would rather have a Smith when it comes to autoloaders than a Ruger. But get a proven and reliable one like a Shield or M&P. Stay away from the Smith Sigma series also. They may run okay but their triggers are crap. I agree the Bodyguard has been out long enough to not have problems anymore that Smith should have fixed. Due to it being a .380 you might have to try a lot of different kinds of ammo to find one that it likes and runs reliably in a reliable mag or get rid of the pistol. You could take it to a licensed gunsmith and let him deal with it and Smith. For the size and kind of defensive only pistol and the price of the pistol those bullet groups are not bad at that yardage slow fire. If its shooting that well slow fire then rapid fire should be larger but not that large at the same distance. You can't expect great accuracy for $208. I have a $200 Taurus PT111 G2c that is accurate enough and reliable. Totally blew me away. I figured for $200 it would probably end up being a paper weight. I wanted to find something wrong with it but couldn't considering what I paid for it. Over 600 rounds of various ammo with zero problems and still running. There are some good budget pistols out there but you have to pick and choose the best ones. Best of luck with it.
