Shooting the HMG Sturmgewehr & Why it Malfunctioned

I had a chance to shoot one of the new HMG Sturmgewehr StG44 rifles at SHOT Show a few weeks ago, and got this shot bit on film. Clearly, the guns were not quite ready for release yet - and why is that?
