Okay guys here’s the question I was asking myself last night while exploring this pistol... I think I would rather have it with the sights and barrel and the original p365 grip frame with the take Down actual lever and slide stop/slide release cause you know you can’t release it now. I wonder about compatibility tho. I don’t think the slides work on an original p365 cause of sights but I have to idea! I think SIG “innovated” too much. LOL. Thoughts on Hellcat? I would never cause of Springfield. LOL

I didn’t care for the sights, just me. The ported barrel I could get past if it helps with recoil. Try it out for a while if you don’t like you can always trade. Don’t have any hands on knowledge of the hellcat but I’ve heard it is not in the same league as the Sig. I would never buy a new Springfield anything. It would have to be used for me to buy. Springfield still makes some great firearms but they won’t get a nickel from me.

Thanks NC gun guy. Lol I did look at the p365 XL in store and liked it. If I don’t end up liking this gun due to the takedown I may be trading it in for the XL. LOL!

I like the the standard P365 , but the XL just seems to fit my hand better.Have not had the SAS in my mits yet, but I think when I actually pull the trigger lol and buy one. It will be on the XL

@RobertM: I agree I’m conflicted about the ported barrel but will see how it does.

@RobertM: freaking hard!! It might not be worth the amazing sights. In an emergency situation not optimal.

Ok, now I’m jealous. The P365 was on my must have list. Well until I held the P365XL. It took its place. Great pistol. I think the porting will help. The Gus is snappy so I’ve heard.

I like the SAS concept but even though the porting might reduce the muzzle flip its still a short barreled pistol and will still have some snap. Recoil is actually soft even with the muzzle flip. The problem I have with porting is its not a good idea due to muzzle flash especially at night. If it was a competition pistol when tighter groups are needed then I can understand porting but not really for a concealed close range pistol.

I would prefer without the ported barrel but still awesome little pistol.

@NC Gun Guy : Me too. I like the Anti Snag (SAS) sides for conealability and the in slide night sights. I have not had any problems with mine snagging. The controls are very low profile and the sights don't hang up either.

@RobertM: You won't do one handed slide racks with a SAS though. Haha.

@RobertM: The take down looks a little harder also than the standard take down lever. But you probably won't be taking it down very often. Only after a shooting session.
