Next up, a Smith & Wesson 12 gauge shotgun from the early 70's with a 20'' barrel, 3'' chamber, 8+1 2 3/4'' shell capacity and cylinder bore. Ouch!
Smith & Wesson tried to enter the shotgun arena in 1972 attempting to appeal to law enforcement entities for weapon contracts as these are as "cop" as they come.
At first they sold well, I mean look at the quality of their handguns during this period......why would anyone second guess their shotguns quality? Well, they should have. These were not up to the same quality standards of the rest of their products.
Law enforcement turned their back on it, rumors of decapitations surfaced, lore is so much more powerful than truth or fact.
That being said, they aren't as expensive as the rest of their catalog and despite what I have heard and read.....the stories on these are endless.....mine works fine. Actually, it's a beast, and one that anyone can afford. It's a real budget maker.
Plus, have you ever seen what a 3'' shell of 00 buck out of a 20'' cylinder bore can do? In the words of Marty Scorsese.....THAT, you should see.
