I store mine the same way, mostly. Empty mags don’t do you any good. Keep all your mags loaded. Springs failing because they are compressed is an old wives tail. The spring wears out from use. Compressing / relaxing or loading/ unloading.

Get some stripper clips, to be ready to reload mags faster. Not one by one...

Or a mag loader, which I prefer. Never had much luck with stripper clips.

@NC Gun Guy : I got a mag loader that I use as well. I plan on ordering more mags so I can keep more loaded and ready to go.
