It's been a couple of years since I created my NFA trust and purchased my suppressor. I've been hunting with it ever since but this is the first time I ever shot a deer using a suppressor. Most of my rifle hunts are for Hogs and Coyotes. I typically bow hunt for whitetailed deer and reserve the rifle for population control on the nuisance animals.

My setup is an ARPerformance AR-15 rifle with a 16 inch barrel chambered in the 6.8spc 2 cartridge. The barrel is free floated for extra accuracy and the ammo is hand-loaded using 100g Nosler ballistic tip bullets. With these rounds I can stack the shots. The suppressor used is a SilencerCo Harvester in 30 caliber. This allows me to use it on my 300 black out rifle / pistol and use it on my 6.8 since the barrel thread pattern in the same on both. The Harvester is not fullauto rated so doing a mag dump through it may cause damage. The Harvester is more of a bolt action silencer since the metal is a lighter material and will not see full auto action. I opted for this particular silencer since the weight was no little. Having a light suppressor on my rifle I carry all day is very nice. If there is anything I can recommend for someone looking to get a suppressor, get a light one. No need to add more weight to your rifle. Especially if you actually use it.
