Taurus Judge Public Defender Poly FDE - Good for a snake gun?

I needed a snake gun. Not a hypothetical snake gun, but a "I got bit by a copperhead and don't want that to happen again" snake gun. After looking around online, I decided on the Taurus Judge Public Defender Poly. Why? Price, availability, and caliber. I wanted birdshot as I was struck inside my carport and even though I drew my 9mm carry gun, I did not fire due to fear of a ricochet. Catching "ouchie sand" ricochets is a lot less concerning that catching a 9mm ricochet.
