The 7-Barrel Nock Volley Gun
Pulled from service by the British navy in 1805 after being deemed too dangerous, the 7-barrel Nock was a formidable weapon. Behind a massive fireball, it hurled a half a pound a lead from its seven short barrels, wreaking havoc on any boarding party unfortunate enough to meet its business end.
Only 606 were purchased by the Royal Navy and this is one such example. Their distinct and fearsome appearance has put them in the pop culture eye with appearances in movies such as "Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World" and "The Alamo" amongst others.
