The Best Damn AR Pistol ever Built (Allegedly)

*I changed the title of this video to see if the title really means as much as I think it does. I see a lot of mediocre Pistol builds that claim to be the best with tons of views and Comments. Wanted to verify what triggers the numbers.

Geissele
Faxon Firearms
Spike's Tactical
Low Pro LLC
Cloud Defense
Sb Tactical
Black Spider Optics
Streamlight
Sharps Rifle Co.
Midwest Industries

I have worked on this build for about 8 months now. What started as an idea took off as soon as the first parts started arriving. Inspired by videos and Forums (AR15.com) dedicated to the MK18 category of Rifle/Pistol, I knew I wanted to start with a 10.5"-11.5" Barrel and build from there. The Handguard was a no brainer, as seen in many videos, the Geissele MK8 series was perfect for this build. Coming in at 9.5", the MK8 was the perfect length for the look/style I was going for.

After getting the Geissele Handguard in hand, as well as the Barrel from Faxon Firearms, I needed a receiver set that would match the FORM and FUNCTION I needed for this gun to be as effective as possible. I looked at quite a few brands, but found the Gen II Billet Receiver set by Spike's Tactical to have all of the features I wanted, and a few features I didnt know I needed. A bonus to going with SPike's is the opportunity to support a local manufacturer. Spike's Tactical is located less than 2 miles from the House I lived in when we moved from NY (Walking Distance close). The Spike's Tactical AR pistol grip is something I have used over the years when I wanted something different on a gun. The profile of the Grip is similar to the Magpul Grips I usually use, but with less unneeded features.

My initial plan for the gun was to SBR it. I have gone as far as submitting a Form 1 to the ATF, but after some soul searching (aka Research) I realise my best course of action my be to just make it a Pistol instead of an SBR. I am still trying to figure out how to cancel my Form 1 submission, but if it gets approved, I will just get a PDW stock and move the SB-PDW to another pistol build. The SB Tactical SB-PDW may be one of the best products on the market. If I had a say say, I would award SB Tactical a Nobel Peace Prize for this innovative design. Yes, I like what they have done that much.

The Midwest Industries Mount was provided, but I would have gladly purchased it at full price. Made in the US, featuring QD levers, and a 1.4" offset, it offers the stability and features I need for a build of this caliber.

The Black Spider Optics 1-4X24 has been in my collection for almost 2 years. It is an affordable Optic packed with some great features. Illumination, Lockable (Exposed) Turrets, lightweight, and topped off with a great Reticle. Some might say an affordable Optic doesnt belong on a build of this caliber, I cannot say they are wrong, but I can say is that the product works great, and hasnt let me down yet. I am all about how well products work together, and so far this Optic has worked extremely well with this build.

Sharps Rifle Co. XPB.I have had the XPB for almost a year and it has performed exceptionally well and consistently throughout the almost 2000 rounds of testing (1700+/-). Reliability is the key here. Most AR failures that take them out of service are usually BCG related. The XPB has proven to be reliable, and quite convenient to clean. It's DLC finish seems to be living up to the Manufacturers claims, and until I see otherwise. Id Recommend it.

Surefire Warcomp was an after thought. I originally equipped the gun with a VG6 Precision Delta 556, but found the concussion forces to be ab bit too much for my use, so I decided to try the Surefire Warden, and that required a Muzzle Device by Surefire. I went withe Surefire Warcomp because of its Flash suppression features and because it offered similar performance characteristics as the Delta 556.

The trigger used is the Super Tricon (Or Super T) by Geissele Automatics. It is a crisp 2 Stage Trigger that has a lot of the features of the other Geissele Triggers shooters of many disciplines know and trust. The Super T is my go to Trigger, I like the feel of the trigger, and find it to be extremely consistent for my use. keeping with the quality, I also acquired a Buffer, Spring and Charging Handle from Geissele. It was only right to add even more quality parts to this build.

*For those MK18 purist out there. This Pistol was INSPIRED by the MK18, it is not intended to be a clone. Clones are fun, but they can be pricey. I plan on using this gun a lot, so waiting for specific Clone correct items to becomes available, as well as paying a premium for some of them, I just didnt want to deal with the hassle of waiting. I was able to mimic the form factor of the MK18 while also using current parts to make this the gun I wanted. I think I am inspired to build an actual Clone now, I guess this means I need to start buying a few of the hard to find item now.
