Without a solid guidance we will misuse the constitution to undo the liberty it was written to protect. The declaration precedes the constitution and upon its authority (creating America) the constitution is valid. The Pledge of Allegiance is created to guide us so that we know the purpose and direction the Constitution is for - LIBERTY and JUSTICE for all. Anti-constitutionalists seek tyranny and social justice.
