The ONLY Surviving, Original Han Solo Blaster
Han Solo's blaster is one of the most instantly recognizable and iconic sidearms in all of cinema. Unfortunately, when Star Wars was released in 1977 no one could have foreseen its immense success and cultural significance.
Made from surplus by London Prop house Bapty & Co., after filming the BlasTech DL-44 Blaster was disassembled and returned to inventory like any other prop, and for decades it was thought lost. Those seen in "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" were replicas or resin molds.
It wasn't until decades later that Bapty & Co,. owner Tony Watts and the original armorer for "Star Wars: A New Hope" Carl Schmidt, came together to solve the mystery of what happened to Han Solo's blaster.
