HR 8 - Forces Background Checks on All Firearm Sales

Summary: This bill will mandate that background checks be completed for ALL firearm purchases. It would allow some limited exemptions, such as borrowing a gun for hunting, but NOT for the constitutionally protected right to self-defense.

H.R.1112 - Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019
To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to strengthen the background check procedures to be followed before a Federal firearms licensee may transfer a firearm to a person who is not such a licensee.

This joint resolution nullifies the rule submitted by the National Park Service titled "General Provisions and Non-Federal Oil and Gas Rights." The rule published in the Federal Register on November 4, 2016, addresses non-federal oil and gas rights within National Park Service units outside of Alaska.
